NM State 4-H Dog School and Shows
New Mexico State 4-H Dog School
The 2024 New Mexico State 4-H Dog School will be held in Bernalillo County, Albuquerque, NM on June 21-23, 2024.
What is a Dog School all about?
4-H Dog School was designed to help youth become familiar with the 4-H Dog Project. Youth participate with their dogs through different events and promote “Responsible Dog Ownership.” Youth receive instruction from professional dog trainers in Obedience, Rally-Obedience, Agility, and Showmanship. We offer different levels of learning in each event – a beginning and an intermediate/advanced. In addition, we bring in people from different organizations that discuss other events or occupations with dogs. The youth are given the opportunity to give a Presentation or Demonstration related to the Dog Project on Saturday night. The 4-H youth and their dog or dogs may compete in the events of Showmanship, Obedience, Rally-O and Agility.
