Aggie Next Step
Aggie Next Step is a 4‑H Youth Development extension and outreach program dedicated to supporting post‑secondary success for youth in grades 8–12. Designed for middle and high schools, youth organizations, homeschool groups, and other educational settings, the program blends in‑person and online learning through presentations, workshops, and hands‑on experiences.
Aggie Next Step helps young people build essential personal, academic, and career skills while setting meaningful goals that carry them through high school and into their next chapter. By participating in the program, youth gain the confidence and knowledge to identify their career pathway and map out a clear plan, whether that leads to higher education, technical or trade school, apprenticeships, or entering the workforce.
Aggie Next Step Curriculum
The Aggie Next Step curriculum is designed to help youth successfully navigate the transition from high school to college or career. Through three key skill development areas: personal, academic, and career, participants build essential life skills that support long‑term success.
The curriculum is housed and delivered through NMSU Global, NMSU’s online learning system, and can be used in person, virtually, or in hybrid learning environments. Each lesson is highly adaptable, allowing educators, 4‑H leaders, and youth organization facilitators to use the content as a full curriculum or select stand‑alone lessons and activities tailored to the needs of participating youth.

College Experience
ANS College Experience events are for schools or groups who are enrolled in ANS and participating in the curriculum. College Experience is a two-day campus visit giving students a more in depth understanding of campus life and exploring a broader range of careers and academic programs.
